Applicants
PLEASE NOTE SECTION 8 APPLICANTS
IF YOU APPLY FROM/LIVE OUTSIDE OF CHARLES CITY, IOWA:
- You MUST attend ALL preliminary and certification appointments/briefings at our office. These meetings cannot be conducted by mail, email, fax, or over the phone.
- You MUST lease up in our jurisdiction for one full year before you may be eligible to exercise the option of portability. Specifically, you CANNOT transfer your voucher to any other jurisdiction until your first year of assistance is complete and you are in good standing with us and your landlord.
Applications
Applications can be made at the Housing Office, using the Online Application, or by downloading the Paper Application.
Applicant Portal
If you are a new applicant, you can register for, and access, the Applicant Portal after you have submitted your application online. If you are an existing waiting list applicant, you will receive an email from us with your code and instructions for logging into the Applicant Portal. To request your code, please contact our office.
